St. John’s Convent High School, Chandessary which began in the year 1994 is run by Christu Jyoti Society. It is a sister concern of St. John’s Convent High School Chandessary .The management enjoys minority rights as enshrined in the Constitution of India,Art.30. Christu Jyoti Society is directly under the indigenous Congregation of Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) founded by Venerable Mar. Thomas Kurialacherry the first Catholic Bishop of Chaganacherry and Co-Foundress Mother Mary Francisca De chantal.

A Brief History of the School

St. John’s Convent High School Ujjain is run by the Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) who serving India since 1908. The SABS is a religious indigenous Congregation of nuns founded by Venerable Mar. Thomas Kurialacherry in 1908 at Champakulam, Kerala. It was his desire to up lift the society through the education of women and children. For this purpose, he started schools, hospitals, homes, for destitute, hostels and social work centres for the wellbeing of the people.

          The foundation stone of St. John’s Convent High School Ujjain was laid by His Excellency late        Mar. John Perumattam,  Bishop of Ujjain on 15th May 1994.The official schooling  for pre- primary began in July 1994. It was all meant for the growth of surrounding villages. Considering the needs    of the hour, we started an English Medium School in the same campus in 2014. The School is committed to provide conducive environment and best of facilities to the students irrespective of their caste, creed, colour, culture and religious faith. As a Catholic  institution we are serving not only the intellectual, cultural and physical development of our children from the infancy but also for the character formation by inculcating sound moral principles, so that the students grow up as good children of God and responsible citizens of our country. The School is recognized by the Madhya Pradesh Board, Bhopal and follows the CBSE board curriculum.
